REEF ROCKET GREEN ISLAND:
Tropical & enchanting Green Island is a beautiful Coral Cay located just 50 minutes on Reef Rocket off the coast of Cairns. Covered in Tropical Rainforest, surrounded by sandy white beaches and beautiful Coral Reefs, makes Green Island the ideal place to snorkel, swim or simply relax.
Green Island is ideal for families with children as the sandy beaches very gradually become deeper. A perfect place to practice snorkelling. There are also many shady retreats under trees. Activities for hire include canoes, surf skis or beach volleyball gear. Beach umbrellas and sunlounges are also available for hire.

Reef Rocket is a modern, comfortable, air-conditioned, high speed catamaran. Travel time to Green Island is 45 minutes from Cairns.

Semi-Submarine/Submersible:
Pre-book your Semi-Submarine tour and save $10. Semi-Submarine is $30/person if booked on the day. Explore the underwater world of the Great Barrier Reef in air-conditioned comfort on our Semi-Submersible? without even getting wet! Seated below water level, passengers are treated to a divers view of the coral reef and marine life with informative commentary by the crew and see the lively fish feeding. This vessel seats 27 passengers and cruises for 30 minutes.
Scuba Diving
No experience is necessary to take a fully supervised introductory dive and explore the Great Barrier Reef and its amazing marine life. Certified divers can enjoy spectacular dives at our specially selected sites.
Lycra suits and flotation vests available for hire.
Please note:
- Scuba diving and Seawalker available on full day departures. Cert Diving only available on 9am departure.
- Minimum age for Seawalker and Scuba Diving is 12years old
- Certain medical conditions, medications and height restrictions may preclude some people from participating in optional in-water activities.

Big Cat Cruise boat/staff were good, lunch fantastic. Green Island itself overrated, lots of litter, facilities unclean. Tide was out so sadly had to walk on coral and sea creatures to get to a deeper spot for snorkelling. Cassuis the largest croc in captivity definately worth a visit.

Had a great day with our two boys. The only thing we missed out on was the family fun pack from the tour even though they said our boys would get a certificate at the end of the day. The food was really nice and lots of it. Even though the weather was overcast for most of the day, it did not make the day dull.It is a must do day out especially if you have young children!

We thoroughly enjoyed our day trip to Green Island and Far North Qld. The websites we researched were very informative and we were able to book all of our tours online before leaving home. The catamaran was very comfortable and the special touch of the souvenir boarding photo was great too!! Highly recommend this day trip. P.S dont forget the sunblock!!!

The Big Cat ship is certainly the slowest of all the Reef fleet, the time spent on the Green Island would be much longer with some faster equipment ;-) Other than that we had a wonderful day and experience. Definitely great memories from that trip!

we didnt have very good weather
Unfortunately we didnt have very good weather on the day and very windy. Green Island is lovely but unless you want to scuba dive there is not much else to do there, particularly if the weather is not good.
