Barron River Family Rafting
Foaming Fury offer a great introduction to white water rafting for children 6 -11 years' operating on the lower section of the Barron River rapids and Lake Placid.
Eight person rafts and two person sports rafts are used. This offers the opportunity to experience both styles of rafting during your trip. Sports rafts are two per raft with an adult and child in each raft.
Children 10 years old and above can be in a raft without an adult. A high guide to passenger ratio ensures safety is first class with an emphasis on having a fun day.
Experience the thrills of paddling rapids graded 1 - 2. Brief walk over rocks required to access rapid section. Dense rainforest surrounds Lake Placid, provides outstanding scenery.
Departures: Daily

Just 20 minutes from Cairns and 40 minutes from Port Douglas.

Cairns 2:00pm and returns 5:30pm

Port Douglas 1:15pm and returns 6:30pm

kids loved it
both my kids fell asleep coming back in the bus 9ys & 7yrs, did not get back to port doug. till 7pm too late .. we would do this again but only if a morning one was on offer otherwise No. kids loved it but would have loved to do the one 12yrs are able to do, mine would have been able to do it from this end I know, they are mental....disappointing there was no great photo shoot available either. the staff at travstar were very friendly to deal with on the phone and helpful. regards sally cluff
