Big Cat is a comfortable air-conditioned 35 metre catamaran with spacious interior cabins and a relaxed atmosphere. Travel time to Green Island is just over one hour from Cairns.
Full Day Tour: Big Cat departs daily from Reef Fleet Terminal at 09:00am, returning at 5:00pm. Check-in half hour prior at the Big Cat counter

Semi-Submarine/Submersible:
Explorer the underwater world of the Great Barrier Reef in air-conditioned comfort on our Semi-Submersible? without even getting wet! Seated below water level, passengers are treated to a divers view of the coral reef and marine life with informative commentary by the crew and see the lively fish feeding. This vessel seats 27 passengers and cruises for 30 minutes. Semi-Sub is $20 when pre-booked in a package or $30 if booked on the day of the tour.
Scuba Diving
No experience is necessary to take a fully supervised introductory dive and explore the Great Barrier Reef and its amazing marine life. Certified divers can enjoy spectacular dives at our specially selected sites.
Please note:
- Scuba diving and Seawalker available on full day departures. Cert Diving only available on 9am departure.
- Minimum age for Seawalker and Scuba Diving is 12years old
- Certain medical conditions, medications and height restrictions may preclude some people from participating in optional diving activities.

Very good value for money
Very good value for money trip and was very enjoyable, excellent reef snorkeling. The kids loved the crocodile handling at Marineland Malanasia.

Great for Children!
We all loved Green Island and had an absolutely wonderful day. We took the semi-submersible option with the kids and would highly recommend it, it was a great experience if your children arent at an age where they are confident at snorkelling. Would love to go back again someday!!!!

The island had great facilities
This was a great way for a family with a small child to experience the Barrier Reef. The island had great facilities and the service on the boat to the island was fantastic. We took the option for a glass bottom boat experience which was well worth it.

Easy day for families with young children
Its an easy day for families with young children. Even though we filled it with many activities there was still an hour or so at the end for us to relax on the beach and have a play in the water.

How long wil it take to get my tickets?
Our team are alerted to new booking requests as they come in. During office hours you can expect to have your tickets within an hour or two.
After office hours your tickets may take up to 12 hours to arrive.
